Lights To Lights release experimental ambient guitar-based "The Book of Psalms: Chapters 1 - 2511/14/2014 Lights To Lights presents experimental ambient guitar-based music below the recited words of Holy Scripture. Two and a half years in the making, the debut album “The Book of Psalms: Chapters 1-25” contains the first twenty-five Psalms...read in a careful, contemplative manner and backed by original, visceral music which reflects the mood and message of each particular Psalm. Twenty-five songs clocking in at a total of just under 80 minutes, this album is an audio-Bible like no other. Lights To Lights is the solo project of Jimmy Sisco (lead singer/guitarist/bassist for Platoon 1107; lead singer/guitarist for Absolved) who wrote, played, recorded, and produced the album himself. The term "lights to lights" comes from Marine Corps boot camp (Jimmy is a Marine veteran). If a drill instructor is on duty, with the recruits when the lights are turned on in the early morning for Reveille, is there all day with the recruits, and is still there when the lights are turned off at night for Taps, he is on "lights to lights". There was always such an omnipresence regarding that drill instructor. He was there from start to finish with the recruits. Watching. Teaching. Disciplining. Guiding. Always there. God's presence in our lives is like that. There with us as we wake. There with us as we fall asleep. Lights to lights. “The Book of Psalms: Chapters 1-25” is available now via MMLJ Records and can be purchased online at mmljrecords.bandcamp.com or other online digital music stores. By: Amanda Casanova Tim Tebow’s role in professional football is being discussed as the NFL football season swings into play. Tebow helped his teams win a State Championship in High School, two National Championships in College and a Division Championship in the NFL. In his 2007 College Football season, Tebow threw for 29 touchdowns and rushed for 21 more, the most in SEC history. He also won the Heisman Trophy. Still, Tebow is now reporting on football as a SEC Network Commentator and not actually playing the game, said Medium columnist Steve Matoren. “Tebow’s limitless heart, insatiable will-to-win, strong character, extraordinary work ethic, humility, countless charitable efforts and leadership skills have never been in question. You would think these off-the-chart intangibles alone should be enough to warrant a real opportunity.” In a column, Matoren reached out to each of the 32 NFL teams to ask "Why don’t you want Tim Tebow on your team?" Most teams did not respond to his question. A few replied that they did not discuss the careers of players that were not on the roster. “Tebow doesn’t fit your system? Change your system," Matoren wrote. “Tebow brings too much attention. Hello! You’re in the business of entertainment and attention getting!" “Tebow’s faith is disruptive. To whom? ISIS?” |
