In Theaters Spring 2014 http://godsnotdeadthemovie.com Check out this powerful new video from Ray Comfort! Bob stood on the corner by the Bus stop. For over 20 years, he stood in the same spot, handing out Gospel tracts to everyone who passed by. Bob was shy man. He never preached or prayed with anyone to receive the Lord, he just passed out his tracts faithfully.
In his later years, Bob became very ill. On his death bed, he told his wife how ashamed he was of himself. For years, so many people had crossed his path, but he never saw a soul come to know Christ . Later in that week he received a visit from a man he did not recognize. The man introduced himself as was a missionary to South America. He spoke to Bob about the miracles he has seen in South America, and the thousands of people who had come to know Jesus. Bob appreciated his work, and communicated to the man that he wished he has made such a contribution to the kingdom. The missionary told Bob that he had visited him today because he heard about his medical condition. He told Bob that when he was a teenager, he was lost and ready to commit suicide, but he received a tract from Bob. He went on to say how he read that tract that night, and gave his life to Jesus. He hugged Bob and thanked him for his service. A short while later, Bob passed away. At his funeral were many people who came to pay respects to the man, from whose tireless efforts, provided the word of God, which convicted many to be saved. God's word is powerful. The scriptures tell us that, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:26). Even if you are shy, or have trouble speaking to others, you can still contribute to the great commission. The word of God is powerful to convict, and even through a tract (booklet or pamphlet containing the gospel message) God can convict and lead people to himself. Here are some ideas, on how to effectively use Tracts: 1. leave tracts in places that people will find them, such as Bus Stops, seats in a movie theatre, Restrooms, park benches, Newspaper vending machines, Grocery stores, Mall benches, or anywhere there is traffic. 2. Find a busy street, or transit station and hand them out to people who pass by. 3. At restaurants, Leave a tracts for your server (make sure you leave a good tip with it) 4. Include tracts in business and personal letters, bill payments, or in books you loan to friends. 5. Give tracts to people at Fast food drive thru windows. These are just a few suggestions, we welcome your comments and stories of how you have effectively used tracts! “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” (Luke 19:40). Jesus told us that one of our duties was to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." (Mark 16:15). Why then doesn't every Christian boldly proclaim the name of Jesus and speak of his love, grace and mercy? Some people find this terrifying, while others live the lie that their "religion" is "personal" , and that you simply do not talk about politics or religion. The scriptures say that “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light." (Luke 8:16). We weren't given the gift of Salvation to horde or keep to ourselves. What use is having the Light of Salvation if we don't show it and lead others to God? Some people worry about what others will say if they proclaim that JESUS is the only way....surely you cannot be that politically incorrect in polite company!! We sure don't want to offend anyone!! But Jesus tells us "Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels." (Luke 9:26) . What a mess we have become! We are so worried about offending man, that we offend the one who gave his life for us. God have mercy! Tomorrow we will talk about some ways of sharing your faith, and ways for those of you who are shy, to be effective! Listen to internet radio with Minister Grok on Blog Talk Radio "Then He said (to Elijah), "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice."--1 Kings 19:11,12 Going through trials is never fun. At times it feels like the storm is never ending and that it will never subside. When we go through tough times, it becomes very difficult to see beyond the current situation. But life is like a puzzle. When you look at one individual piece, it is hard to envision the finished product. Think about how hard it is to put together that puzzle if you don't have the picture of the final result. Our lives are just like that, except that God is seeing the completed picture of our lives, and he is carefully assembling the pieces. When we are engulfed in our daily lives, we tend to lose sight of important things. We sometimes lose sight of our relationship with God, and go on about our lives without effectively communicating with him, or relying on him to direct our paths. So as illustrated in the verses above, he will allow the strong winds and earthquakes to come. Then when we are finally on our knees,he will speak to us in that still small voice. Sometimes, we need to be shaken up and broken to hear God's voice and to seek his direction. Romans 5:3-4 states ,"we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope." God allows these trials and tribulations to form character in us, to mold us into better people, and to build more Christ-like traits in us. No matter what happens, we know that God is in control, and that he has only our best in mind. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) Going through trials or hardship? Lift your eyes toward Heaven, ask the Lord for strength, wisdom and grace. Remember, the Lord wants us to "Be still and know that I am GOD". |
