![]() The Protest has established themselves among the touring Christian Rock bands as a force that can deliver aggressive, hard-hitting tunes which are melodic fuel for a new awakening. The band wants to bring hope to those who might be struggling with difficult life situations like suicide, drugs, self-injury, bullying, addiction, or depression by sharing their spiritual influence bundling a positive message into each song. Their musically inventive compilation of tracks on the "Game Changer" album takes the listener on an adventure of monstrous drum lines, crushing chords and catchy choruses. Along with intricate, vicious riffs, fist-pumping beats, and hammering breakdowns, this album is an aggressive, yet new, confident, and definitive sound from The Protest. When asked about the story behind the song, Josh, the lead singer, shared the following: “The song "Pull Me Away" was birthed from the struggles that come with being a part of a ministry. Whether it's financially, physically, or emotionally, doing the Lord's work can be hard because the enemy realizes that you are doing the Lord's work and wants nothing more than to wreck everything. When this song was written the band was going through some of the hardest times we had up to that point. We began to wonder if we were making a difference, we were wondering if we could or should press on. It was then when we found a verse that changed our thinking. The verse was Galatians 6:9 and it reads; "Let us not grow weary of doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”. Reading this verse felt like God just smacked us over the head and we realized that if we gave in now we would be giving up on potential lives won over for Christ. The toll it takes mentally and physically is totally worth it, if it means the growth of God's Kingdom. So we wrote this song to those who feel that they are losing hope, but we also wrote it for ourselves as a battle cry, letting the enemy know that we won't be stopped so easily. So my friends don't lose hope. The Lord cares for His children so much and through Him all things are possible.” – Josh Bramlett, The Protest 01 - Song Title – Pull Me Away 02 – Track # on album – 6 03 - Track Time - 3:22 04 - Artist/Band Name - The Protest 05 - Album Name - Game Changer 06 - Album Release - August 28, 2012 07 - Single Release Date - July 16, 2013 08 - Record Company – Independent 09 - List of Composer or Composers - The Protest 10 - List of Publishing Company - The Protest Entertainment LLC 11 - List of Publishing Representation – BMI 12 - ISRC # - N/A Hear the new single on our MUSIC SURGE! show!
