You're probably going to be hearing a lot about Bill Maher's latest "New Rule" in the coming days. Mostly because in it, he not only takes aim at almost every religion (Bahá'í, you got lucky) but also because he calls God a "psychotic mass murderer."

Proponents of new regulations say they were designed to protect women's health. Women's rights groups have complained that they were designed to put abortion clinics out of business and have already succeeded in eliminating a third of them. Women in parts of Texas now must drive for hours to reach a clinic. Source: Baptist Press by Amy Jacobs PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (BP) -- The land of bright sunshine and snow-white sand can be a spiritual dark spot each and every spring break. Rowdy weeks of partying often bring with them a spirit of recklessness and outright rebellion into Panama City Beach, Fla. While locals brace for the invasion and disruption they've come to expect with spring, quiet forces determined to share the hope of Jesus Christ make their way south. He was in Sofia, Bulgaria when a Roma Gypsy man tried to sell his six-month-old son to him for $50, because Stewart said the baby was beautiful. That moment inspired Stewart to do something. Called "Shoot the Skies," the book's photographs are stunning—a starry sky over snow-peaked mountains, a lightning storm over the plains, and other amazing moments in nature. Source: The Blaze By: Billy Hallowell Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, host of the new “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” television re-boot, spoke out against people of faith who use their “religious text as a source of [their] science” during a radio interview Monday. Tyson, who said that science and religion “can be compatible,” told WNYC host Brian Lehrer that he believes problems emerge when religious people start looking at the Bible and faith-based texts as the basis for their scientific views. “If you start using your scripture, your religious text as a source of your science, that’s where you run into problems, and there is no example of someone reading their scripture and saying ‘I have a prediction about the world that no one knows yet because this gave me insight let’s go test this prediction and have that theory turn out to be correct,’” Tyson said. We’ll see how much we can push their buttons,” Amy teased her girlfriend, who didn’t like the idea of hanging around a bunch of Christians. “Come on,” Amy insisted. “I hear their motto is ‘Come as you are.’ I just want to prove that they’re ‘come as you are ... unless you’re gay.'” Source: Walid Shoebat By Theodore Shoebat The top religious authorities of Pakistan, called The Council of Islamic Ideology, have deemed the prohibition of child marriage, which is really pedophilia, as contrary to Islam. They attacked Pakistan’s Prohibition of Child Marriages Act as something that goes against Islam. Tahir Ashrafi, a member of the council, protested with these disturbing words: There is no specific age limit for marriage in Sharia … Sharia says an individual can marry when he or she reaches puberty and puberty cannot be defined by age …Family members can marry a child if they think he or she has reached puberty. |
