Revelation 9, among other places, speaks of the "do what you want " and "follow your heart" culture gone wild. In a society that teaches the evolution theory, that we are basically a random mistake with no afterlife or God, people are left to their own selfish desires. There have always been drugs, but in recent years we have seen a society wide glorification of marijuana, especially among teens and young adults. What is different from previous generations is not their use of the drug, but the integrating of it into their identity. Hollywood and the music business have endorsed and tempted our youth into fully embracing this drug use as normal, fun, cool and even "healthy". This reprogramming has lead to a lack of remorse about use of the drug and even turning it into a "spiritual" and beneficial thing. Let us pray for our society and those caught in the grasp of weed.
