This week we will be focusing on Hollywood and the occult underpinnings of the Movie and Ad industry. Some of the information might shock you! This is the primer to the series, an audio from our Truth Be Told program on Grok Radio! Check back every day for new posts and information! Feel free to post your thoughts and questions!
I found a book of beautiful prayers on my desk this morning. What a great way to start the work day. I loved them so much, I will be sharing them with you all week!
May the peace of God which passes all understanding rest on me and my family. Father God, place your hand over my eyes, ears and on my heart. Hide me in your shadow as your love and spirit comforts me in times of trouble. Father help my mind be at ease in every situation. Please grant me the wisdom to know how to handle things. Grant me the understanding that will allow peace to rain over me. Cover me with your wings God and keep me in a quiet place within your heart as your spirit ministers to mysoul. God, i ask for your safekeeping and for your mercy and grace to be with me always. Allow that same joy and peace to spread to those who come in contact with me. Father God surround me with your angels that will keep me safe. Cradle me in your arms with your loving care. I am safe with you as my God, and I declare your glory as my covering and the blood of Jesus as my shield! In Jesus name, Amen! For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; In a world that is designed to pull us down, destroy us, and move us away from the image God designed us to be, it’s good to take a moment to consider how the Lord views us. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God Knitted us in the womb, He saw us before our bodies were formed, and knew our lives from beginning to end, his thoughts towards us would outnumber the grains of sand on the earth. His thoughts towards us are of peace not of evil, thoughts to give us a future and a hope. He has the hairs on our head not only counted, but individually numbered, His love for us is so great that he has called us his sons and daughters, and promises an eternal inheritance. We are the apple of his eye, and so precious that his son paid the ultimate cost to redeem us. Oh how, the father loves us.

In a world that encourages us to “Be Proud, to do whatever we like, just as long as we don’t hurt anyone, have it our way, never let them see you sweat, and to think of ourself first, the wisdom of the Bible seems pretty radical. Philipians 2:3 tells us Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility think of others as being better than yourselves. “Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. The enemy of Humility is PRIDE, Pride has been referred to as the “complete anti-God state of mind.” in Prov. 16:5 is says Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; and God detests pride. He even hates a proud look according to (Prov. 6:16-17). It’s funny how that which God hates, is the crowing principle of our modern society. So my challenge to you is to take some time, ask the Lord to search you, and uncover any pride in you…….For God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” If there is a mental disorder for manic doubt, or doubt attacks, I think I have it. A couple of times a year I have these mini-crises where I doubt everything. I’m not talking, “If I can’t see it I don’t believe it” doubt, I’m talking Matrix, “there is no spoon”, “is this all a dream?” doubt. It’s in the pit of my soul. I can feel it around my heart. I lose sleep and I freak out for days or weeks at a time. I question everything. Of course God, Jesus, religion, all of it, gets put on trial when I go through these bouts. What if there is no God? What if the Bible is wrong? What if Jesus was just a moral teacher? What if I’m a Christian only because I was born in America? What if all my atheist friends are right and I could be sleeping in on Sundays? What...If...All of it…It flies through my brain at lightning speed. I wish I could tape it all and put it on YouTube. Do you know what keeps me here? Do you know what keeps me with the Bible and Jesus and Christianity? It’s the only religion or philosophy that is honest with me. The Bible tells me in the midst of my doubt, inferiority, brokenness, and weakness that I am inferior, broken, and weak. I know in our self help, everybody’s special, life your best life now, I blame the system and my mom, world this is not what’s supposed to be said, but the truth is at the least cathartic and at the most freeing. We are screwed. We are royally messed up. Can you honestly look into yourself and say, “I’m naturally good”? If you can then you are delusional. Can you honestly bank on the idea that by the time you die you will have done more good stuff then bad stuff? Not to mention, whose standard are you using? If you’re true to yourself that’s great, but are you the universal standard for right and wrong? No, you are not. I’m sorry to tell you that. I hope your therapist, bong, or social media can have a field day with that realization. The Bible, God, and Jesus are honest with us about our current condition. We are irrevocably broken and there is nothing we can do about it. There is no balm, there is no bandage, there is no stitch to take care of the deep gash that we have. There is not a doctor smart enough, a drug good enough, sex amazing enough to fix the fact that we intentionally do stupid stuff. Sure, you can cover it up, you can hide it, that’s fantastic, but when we pull a Homer Simpson and put electrical tape over the “check engine” light in our car in hopes of the problem going away deep down we know the repercussions are coming and we aren’t doing the right thing. That’s what keeps me in the Bible. That’s what keeps me in with Jesus. That’s the Grace of God. He doesn’t lie to us or let us lie to ourselves. He says, “You are broken. You need help. I have the only help.” A lot of people don’t like this. A lot of people think God is an arrogant prick because He claims to have the only way and acts like He’s in charge. But what if He’s right? What if our best efforts are not going to cut it? Wouldn’t you rather be told that upfront then wasting all of your time? God doesn’t pull any punches. “Your righteousness is like a dirty tampon to me” (Isaiah 64:6). God isn’t interested in the good stuff we do to try to appease Him. He has no interest in how “good” we are. He doesn’t set up a list of do’s and don’ts that must be completed before we die. All He said is “Follow me.” See, that’s where Jesus is a horrible moral teacher. He doesn’t teach us how to be good, instead He teaches us how we don’t have anything good in us that aren’t a lonely remnant of Eden. Jesus teaches us that He is the answer to God’s impossible standard. God is His own answer because He’s that big. He doesn’t need us to answer questions for Him and He doesn’t need to answer all our questions either. He doesn’t HAVE to do anything, but He did. Believe me, in another post we will get into this much, much, deeper. What I want you to do now is take solace, comfort, and joy in the fact that, on our own, we are screwed. How are you guys?
God is good... All the time; And all the time, God is good! We all have heard or said this at some point in our Christian lives. But... do you really believe it? Even when things are going bad, will you still believe that God is good? I know we can at times focus on our struggles, hard times and trials of every day life. But the way I see it, the good ALWAYS outweigh the bad. God is (or at least should be) the center of our lives. He created the universe and it is only fitting for us to make him the center of our personal universe. But consider this, while we are looking to make God the center of our universe, what if He didn't do anything else for us? What if the blessings stopped flowing or what if He didn't give us our heart's desires? Would you still say he's good no matter what? I was reading Psalms 78 today and found the people of Israel still complained and turned against God even when he was doing for them. He fed them with manna from heaven, quenched their thirst with water from a rock, and parted the seas to have them walk on dry land and STILL.... it wasn't enough for them. What does God need to do, say or prove in order for us to say that He is good all the time... no matter what? Maybe we need to count our blessings and be grateful even if he did nothing else for us because SURELY, He's done enough! Live in "Peace of Mind". Keep it JESUS. Much Love. - Harlem Witness |
