Two years and two months ago we released our first official record and since then it's been a flurry of excitement. Tours, highways, high-fives, vans, buses, stranded, un-stranded, Jesus music, sound checks, conferences, dubstep, sunshine, rain, keytars, hope, festivals, new faces, new fans, and new friends. It's been an amazing experience. We want to thank everyone who's been a part of it especially our fans, friends, church families, and families for all your love and support. It's been an incredible journey.
For quite some time now, people have been asking us, "When is We Are Leo coming out with new music?" Fans, radio stations, show promoters all asking the same thing and up until this point we've been too busy and too focused to think about new music. At times this band life has been extremely difficult and often we've been tempted to give up. Other times we've been at a loss at how to continue, but now, more than ever, we believe that we need to keep on running. So now as the year is winding down, we believe that it is finally time to make new music. Our plan is to get off the road for a few months once we get back home (we are currently in Denmark on a mission trip/tour with YFC) so we can find the time to focus on writing and creating. Once we have the songs written we are hopeful that we'll get back in the studio to record even without a record label financially to back this enormous project. New music to us would mean that we can continue what we've started. New music means we can keep on running. We've been praying and dreaming about what this record should look like, sound like, and be about. We want to grow and build off what we've done in the past and we hope to take our music to new levels. It is very, very inspiring to see the response we gotten thus far from so many of our fans and friends, and the fact that you have all been asking for new music is extremely motivating. Looking out on crowds from stage over the last two years I think we realized that everyone needs hope, we all need to be inspired, we all need Jesus. And not just once in a long life, but every single day, every morning, with every sunrise. That makes us eager to find lyrics and melodies that express the emotions and truths we feel in our hearts. We have lots of ideas, and we don't have all the songs yet, but we are excited to take time off the road to discover and complete them. Funding for our record is a challenge that we will need to overcome. There are studio fees & producer costs that we need to cover. There are writing time expenses. Deciding to do a Kickstarter wasn't easy decision. We've debated for some time whether we should do it or not. We know at least that we need to keep on running so we are stepping out in faith. It would mean so much to us if you join us on this journey and help us turn the ideas and emotions in our hearts and heads into music that everyone can hear. One of the best ways to help is simply by pre-ordering our record for just $15. (If just 20% of our fans pre-ordered our record for $15, we will easily reach our goal) Another great way to help is by sharing this project with your friends. We had the chance this summer to open for bands like Skillet, Switchfoot, Hillsong United, and Lecrae. We saw in person how God is using their music, and it has increased our vision for what is possible. It's made us want to learn, grow, and become all that we were born to be as Artists and Worshippers. Thanks again for all your love and support, we've loved our time making music for you and we hope to continue for many years! Sincerely, David, Jonny, Doug, and Andrew
