Last week, Huffington Post blogger Suzanne DeWitt Hall penned an argument claiming that based on literal interpretations of the Bible, Jesus was the first transgender man and Eve was the first transgender woman.
Hall frames her column around the issue of transgender bathroom access and complains about Christians who view gender as a biological fact, not a mental construct.

Everything bad in the world comes from or is tied to Christianity, alleged one speaker at this weekend’s White Privilege conference in Philadelphia, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Activist and author Paul Kivel told the conference that everything from racism and sexism to weakening economies and global warming stem from the ideology of “Christian hegemony.” Essentially, Kivel said all things that are bad in the world evolved from Christian ideals.

Many of the modern battles against Christianity are being waged in government-run schools. All across America, secularists throw around the phrase “separation of church and state” (a phrase which, by the way, is not found in the US Constitution) and insist that any mention in schools of Christianity, the Bible, or even Intelligent Design is somehow a violation. In fact, most of them will not return for a second visit." – Charles E. Hackett, the Division of Home Missions National Director for a leading U.S. denomination.
In 1991, organizers of a Salt Lake City concert encouraged follow-up. They said, "Less than five percent of those who respond to an altar call during a public crusade ... are living a Christian life one year later."
A mass crusade reported 18,000 decisions, yet according to Church Growth magazine, 94 percent failed to become incorporated into a local church.

In their annual “Studio Responsibility Index” report, GLAAD takes major film studios to task for their representation (or lack thereof) of LGBT people in film. The organization recently released their 2016 report, which gives Disney a failing grade; over the 11 films the studio released in 2015, none of them included appearances by LGBT people. This year, GLAAD cited the “Star Wars” universe specifically as an area where the studio could change this.
